INDIANA HISTORY
The Hopewells were the first Native American tribe in Indiana for some time. Indiana was just a territory
until President Jams Madison made it a state on Dec 11, 1816. Britain held the land for sometime, until they lost the Revolutionary War
when they surenderd the land to America. Many battles were held in Indiana. First the battle of Tippecanoe held
November 7, 1811. Next there was the battle of Corydon held July 9, 1869.
